Moving In

Joe and I moved into our cozy basement apartment on May 2nd, just a few days before the wedding. My mom and Dad, my Father-in-law, Parker Reed, Joe, and I started early by loading up a U-Haul full of furniture and housey things and then loading into the suburban for the small trek down to Provo.  Joe and I are excited to be living just a few blocks away from Brigham Young University where I currently work and am going to school.

Both Joe and I have time off from school until August which we are already thoroughly enjoying!  It is so nice to have time to organize and settle into our place, to adjust to married life, to spend time together, and to relax a little bit.  However, even with a break from school, we will both still be working and saving up money.  Currently I am working full-time as a secretary at the BYU Mechanical Shop and Joe is doing sales work with a company called ClearLink (giving him great experience since this is what he has been studying at LDS Business College).

Our apartment is a simple little place with just a single bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen.  Rent is cheap, the house is clean (old too, but clean nonetheless), and our favorite part.... we have a free washer and dryer!!!!!  This is shared with all the tenants in the house and has been absolutely wonderful!  It is so nice to not have to pay for laundry or to go to the laundromat each week.  This has saved us a lot of time and we love it!  As for everything else, it is simple, but exactly what we need.  It is a great starter place for us newlyweds.

One fun thing about moving into our apartment was seeing it turn from a house into a home.  We are still working on decorating to make it our own, but this is a fun process.  It feels more homey each day, but the best part about home is definitely each other!
